Who is the service for?

What does the Whistleblower Protection Bill want?
  1. The organization must establish an "Internal Reporting System". It is sometimes called a whistleblower hotline, whistleblowing channel, or ethics line.
  2. In addition, they must appoint a person in charge of all notifications.
  3. Address the announcement.
Can I make do with what I have today?
  1. Many corporations have trust boxes, i.e. physical mailboxes for collecting suggestions. Such a solution is not sufficient as it does not meet the requirements of the Bill.
  2. Even an email inbox is not enough - it needs to be more advanced. Sometimes it's called an ethics hotline, and it's whistleblower software. This will, among other things, protect against unauthorised access to the file.
So what do I do?
  1. Think about your organization. The law wants you to implement an "Internal Reporting System". It's just one internal notification channel. You may have more than one. How are they related? Who's behind them?
  2. Maybe you have a code of ethics that remembers such announcements. How does it relate to it?
  3. Choose an IT solution for the notification channel.
  4. Write an internal document: whistleblower protection directive sometimes also whistleblowing directive.
  5. Map the risk - the possibility of "retaliation" (such as bullying at work, discrimination or harassment in the workplace).
  6. Decide how you are going to deal with anonymity - will you accept anonymous notifications or not?
  7. Train: person in charge, staff, management.
  8. Get ready for the news - if you get it going, you'll learn something extra (e.g. workplace misconduct, company fraud).
